He was often accused of putting his foot in his mouth with his wildly inappropriate, often insulting remarks. While they were both those things, they were hardly uttered by accident. “Foot in his mouth” suggests bumbling or classlessness. The Prince possessed neither of those traits. What he did posses was a rapier wit, which he had no qualms using.
