Here we go again.

Another assassination attempt on Donald Trump. From the NY Post:

[Former President Trump narrowly survived yet another assassination attempt after a sniper with a scoped AK-47 rifle got within a few hundred yards of him as he played golf at his West Palm Beach, Florida club on Friday.

It is the second time a madman armed with an assault rifle has tried to kill the 45th president in two months.

Here your Tatler, knowing precious little about this incident, will engage in audacious speculation about it.

A culprit has been arrested and we may be confident the crack propagandists at MSM are already digging deep to find right-wing causes to which he’s connected (wouldn’t it be fun if he is, like your Tatler, a regular attendee of the Traditional Latin Mass, whom the FBI have deemed a “national security threat?”). They will then gin up a convoluted yarn how the perp may be a hard right extremist, but still is in the same boat as Trump, the implication being no one on the left would engage in such a violent act.

Should however those make-believe reporters discover the perp is indeed a left-winger, that will make their job easier; they’ll shove him into the background and launch yet another demand for the banning of so-called “assault weapons” (the culprit was carrying an AK-47).

Two things we may be sure of, even if your Tatler’s predictions turn out to be cut from whole cloth: there will be zero mention of the left’s pathological hatred of Donald Trump, and the former president’s Secret Service detail will not be increased.
